Stockade Works Make Local Work
Training & Apprenticeship Program

Stockade Works is offering a unique opportunity for Hudson Valley residents to hone skills in fiction, documentary, and organization filmmaking and put those skills to work on local productions. Part internship, part work, this innovative pilot program will teach participants the ins and outs of budgeting, pitch material creation, social media marketing and audience engagement, and post production work. Trainees will also learn film production work such as camera operator, boom operator, sound utility, set production assistant, and office production assistant.

Through local partners including TMI Project, Catskill Jazz Factory, Northguild Productions, and Mary Stuart Masterson’s newly launched production company, Quality Pictures, apprentices will have the opportunity to work in contracted positions on projects ranging from film, television, web content, and work on impact driven audience engagement campaigns.

Under the mentorship of industry professionals who will teach and supervise students, the program will provide a holistic learning experience and help apprentices navigate future career paths.

The program is designed to provide trainees with hands-on experience in digital strategy, video production, and editing on smaller-scope projects while meeting the demands of larger productions by providing training for film and television work. Apprentices will be supervised and mentored by local media professionals throughout their apprenticeship and will assist in the strategy, creation, and distribution of Stockade Works partners’ content. Apprentices will be compensated for their work and be given supplemental training and mentorship experiences to assist in furthering each individuals’ career goals in film, television, and online content production. Trainees will continue to be mentored, recommended for jobs, and hired on Stockade Works projects after the  program ends.
