MAKE LOCAL WORK

Bringing the TV/Film industry to

Upstate New York & the Hudson Valley

STOCKADE WORKS

MISSION

Stockade Works, founded in 2016 by actress, producer and director Mary Stuart Masterson, is dedicated to furthering the potential of film, television, media and tech in the Hudson Valley through workforce development training programs in film & TV production for local residents. These include Crew Boot Camps, Workshops, Apprenticeships, Mentorships and Career Awareness programs.

Access and inclusion are at the core of our mission: we believe that every individual should have opportunities for quality, well-paying jobs with avenues for growth. Stockade Works serves all people looking for employment and careers in the Hudson Valley, with a focus on those members of the community who have been locked out of employment and training opportunities, particularly women, people of color, veterans and those who are underemployed.

WHAT STOCKADE WORKS DOES

Access and inclusion are at the core of our mission

  • "Stockade Works has taken me from never working on a real film or TV production, to working on an HBO series"

The level of experience, all the instructors and staff share and instill in you is immeasurable. Since taking their crew bootcamp, I’ve been a PA and a background actor and I am now SAG eligible.

Daniel Gonzalez | 2019 Boot Camp graduate, US Military Veteran

  • "Having this type of program in the Hudson Valley is so important to grow the film/tv industry”

This training provided such an incredible opportunity for someone like myself, a woman over 50. Stockade Works has given me so much hope and faith that this can grow into another fantastic career. Having this type of program in the Hudson Valley is so important to grow the film/tv industry and I look forward to being part of that growth.

Jules Anderson | 2019 Grip & Electric Workshop graduate

  • "It is my goal as a Costume Designer to train crews and encourage shows to shoot in the Hudson Valley and hire locally."

Stockade Works is an excellent opportunity for people who have an interest in film and television production. Not only can they learn the basic skills of each department, they can get advice and insights from working professionals. It is my goal as a Costume Designer to train crews and encourage shows to shoot in the Hudson Valley and hire locally.

  • "Join us in creating a film community that supports women, diversity and damn fine film!”

The Hudson Valley is having an artistic and economic renaissance, with Stockade Works right at the heart of it. With our 40% tax incentive, gorgeous locations, and world class talent, I am so excited to see what 2020 holds for our area. I’m proud to partner with Mary Stuart Masterson, and I invite locals and far off friends alike to join us in creating a film community that supports women, diversity and damn fine film!

Hilarie Burton | Actress/Producer & Hudson Valley Resident

  • "What I’ve found most valuable from the Bootcamp experience is the entrance into the network of the Hudson Valley Film community.”

Stockade Works Boot Camp was one of the most exhilarating educational experiences I’ve ever had! The mentoring session I had was very helpful and the recommendations I received did provide offers. What I’ve found most valuable from the Bootcamp experience is the entrance into the network of the Hudson Valley Film community.

Corey Spears | 2019 Boot Camp Graduate

  • "I would strongly recommend working with Stockade Works to any production looking to shoot in the Hudson Valley.”

Stockade Works was an invaluable resource for the production during our 9 month shoot in the Hudson Valley. Their recommendations for local crew members were insightful and their Boot Camp graduates were prepared, knowledgeable, and most importantly, enthusiastic to be on set.
